This download updates the English, French, German, and Japanese language versions of Adobe® FrameMaker® 7.2b144 software (released in December 2005) to version 7.2p156.
The FrameMaker 7.2p156 patch for UNIX® includes the following corrections:
? Various fixes related to Undo, WMF/EMF filter, PDF conversion, DITA, and XML schema.
? Added limited support for URL paths (e.g., http://...) in import and export XML workflows for schema. The schema URL will need to map to a local path (on disk) using the entity catalog file. The syntax for mapping is the following: SYSTEM "http://url..." "local path of schema". Whenever you have an HTTP path for the schema file, FrameMaker will refer to the local mapped file on the disk and will use this schema file for processing. This support is not extended to schema in include, import, and redefine elements. The URL path mapping support should not be used in "import XML fragment" workflows.

The FrameMaker 7.2b144 update also introduces enhanced XSLT functionality by offering support for xalan:write. The xalan:write feature is powerful when combined with the XSLT functionality because:
? XSLT allows you to write a script to convert structured data to *any* file format (not just XML).
? XSLT already has built-in functionality for reading from multiple files.
? xalan:write allows you to write that content to one or more files under XSLT control.

This patch updates all language versions of Adobe® FrameMaker® 7.0p578 software (released in April 2003) to version 7.0p579.
FrameMaker 7.0p578 crashed when an unsaved FrameMaker file was converted to PDF using the Save As PDF command or printing to Adobe PDF printer with Adobe Acrobat® Distiller® 7.0 installed on Windows®. This issue has been fixed in this patch release.
Note: FrameMaker7.0p579 may have problems if both Acrobat Distiller 6.0 and Acrobat Distiller 7.0 are installed on the same machine. Adobe does not recommend or support having more than one version of Acrobat installed on the same machine. It is recommended that users uninstall Acrobat Distiller 6.0 before installing Acrobat Distiller 7.0.
Additional details can be found in the ReadMeForPatch7.0p579.txt file installed with the update to the FrameMaker program directory.
